Bob just finished a big tile job in our house (kitchen renovation) He did an amazing job and was a pleasure to work with. Always answering texts or calls in a timely manner and a real professional. They did excellent, careful and perfect work at a reasonable price. They meticulously cleaned up and left the place spotless. I would recommend Bob's work to any and all who need tile or marble. I purchased tile in November of 2016 for the kitchen and mudroom of the house we just purchased. I thought it would be easy to find a good tile installer, unfortunately, I found that was not the case. I called numerous tile contractors from a list given to me by the tile store. Many just never returned my call. Some came over to look at the job and never got back to me. Some did get back to me with crazy quotes which I knew were out of line - I think they just didn't want the job. There was a hump in the floor where the addition meets the main house so it made the job a little more difficult and not so cut and dry.
One tile contractor told me he did not want the job-he said tile was the wrong material for my un-level floor. Another tile contractor said I had to remove all of my kitchen cabinets in order for him to do the job correctly. I knew I wanted a product called Schluter Ditra laid under the tile. Many contractors had never heard of that product and a few that did said they don't use it. I knew I did not want to hire these contractors even if they got back to me with a quote. After reading all the rave reviews about Schluter Ditra, I was surprised that a professional tiler would not have heard of that product.
After meeting so many people, I finally found a good tile person who knew what he was doing, was willing to do the job and got back to me with a reasonable quote. Unfortunately, when the time came, he was too busy and said he'd be another few weeks and then I never heard back from him. Frustrated and completely exhausted from my efforts and experiences, I called the manager of the tile store and explained what I have been going through for over 3/4 year trying to find a good tile contractor. He then gave me Bob Kellar's info, saying he may be the man to help me. I called Bob and he came over to look at the job. He knew it was a little challenging because of the hump in the floor but he was DETERMINED to find a solution. He said he likes challenges...many people did not want the job because it was not easy, cut and dry, in and out.
Bob faced the challenge head on instead of running away from it like I believe many other contractors did. He even sent a building contractor to my house the next day to look at my basement to make sure there was no structural issue. He also was very familiar with the Schluter Ditra product I wanted laid under the tile. He promptly got back to me with a quote, which was in line with what I was expecting and I hired him to begin the work shortly thereafter.
Words cannot explain how relieved I was to have found the right person for the job, someone willing to take on something that had a bit of a challenge to it and someone who was so knowledgeable and knew his business inside and out. He's also a perfectionist and took his time making sure everything was done properly. I think things in life sometimes happen for a reason and I have told Bob that there may have been a reason I had such a difficult time finding a contractor - it's because he was meant to be the one to do the job! The tile looks wonderful, my floor is now level - Bob did an amazing job. I had a large group of people for a get together at my home last weekend, some of whom were contractors themselves outside of the area, and they complimented the tile installation.
Another amazing thing is Bob came to my house over a month later to check on everything, to make sure I was happy and everything looked good. He really goes above and beyond and cares so much for the quality of his work-a trait that is lacking in so many contractors these days. I consider myself a perfectionist. I have high expectations and standards and I rate Bob OUTSTANDING. He not only met my expectations, he exceeded them.

Bob Kellar just worked on our bathroom tiles which were a mess and he did a beautiful job. They were quite old, worn and now they look better than new.
